UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) _ Charmaine Hooper and Cindy Parlow scored first-half goals to lead Atlanta to a 2-0 victory over the New York Power on Sunday night and the Beat matched the WUSA record with their fourth consecutive win.

Hooper gave the Beat (5-3-1) the lead in the 15th minute when she headed in a cross from Parlow for her team-leading fifth goal of the season.

Parlow made it 2-0 in the 39th minute when she converted the rebound of a shot off the crossbar by Homare Sawa.

Briana Scurry made five saves to record her third consecutive shutout.

Shortly after the Beat took the lead, Scurry denied the Power (2-6-1) an equalizer by steering a blast by Sara Whalen wide of the goal. In the second half, she made two strong saves on Tiffeny Milbrett.
