DuPont Sues DCV in Patent Case
Apr. 08, 1999
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) _ DuPont Co. has sued DCV Inc. and a subsidiary unit, Legacy USA Inc., charging they infringed on the chemical giant's trademark in promoting a product on the Internet, according to court papers filed in Delaware.
DCV Inc. was a biotechnology joint venture between DuPont and ConAgra Inc. from the mid-1980s until August 1997, when it was spun off.
DuPont is the only plaintiff to the lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Wilmington on Wednesday. The company said it wants an injunction against DCV and Legacy to stop what it calls an infringement of the DuPont trademark and name.
