Dec. 22, 1992
CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) _ A motorist who was shot in the head during a traffic dispute dislodged the bullet by blowing his nose in the hospital emergency room, police said.
The bullet apparently had lodged in a sinus, said Sgt. Steve Spraggins, a police spokesman.
The 25-year-old victim was shot in the right temple early Sunday while riding in his girlfriend's car. Police said another driver apparently got angry when she refused to let him pass. Her name and the victim's were withheld because she feared retribution.
The victim was treated and released, Desert Samaritan Hospital spokeswoman Susan Gordon said.
Police working from a license number arrested Leonard Peralta, 39, of Chandler on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of felony endangerment. He was released from jail Monday on a $7,000 bond, a sheriff's spokesman said.
