SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Police in Vermont continue to search for a man suspected in the death of a 33-year-old South Burlington mother.

The Burlington Press reports the U.S. Marshals Service is leading the search for Leroy Headley, who is wanted on a second-degree murder charge in the death of his partner, Anako "Annette" Lumumba, on May 3.

South Burlington Police Detective Chris Bataille, the lead local investigator on the case, asked that Headley "do the right thing" for his children.

Headley's car was found on May 18 in Albany, New York. The 36-year-old had previously called his lawyer four days earlier and said he would turn himself in to authorities. Police have found no activity from him since then.

Those with information about Headley should contact authorities.
