NY woman gets prison for aiding body disposal
Jan. 22, 2018
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — An upstate New York woman will spend one to three years in prison for helping a murderer get a chainsaw and a shovel and dispose of a body.
The Post-Standard says 49-year-old Connie Ingoldby helped Corey Slattery conceal the strangulation and stabbing of Aikeem Hudgins in a Cicero apartment complex in December 2016.
The grandmother of nine accompanied Slattery as Hudgins' body was dismembered, burned and dumped in trash bins around Onondaga and Oswego counties.
Slattery has pleaded guilty to killing Hudgins days before Ingoldby arrived with others looking for drugs.
Judge Stephen Dougherty said at the Syracuse sentencing that drug addiction is "no excuse."
Ingoldby declined comment before being sentenced on a felony hindering prosecution charge.
Slattery is awaiting sentencing on his murder plea.
