NEW YORK (AP) _ Treasury bond prices were mixed at midday Thursday.

The price of the Treasury's 10-year note was down 1/8 point, or $1.25 per $1,000 in face value, around midday Thursday, while its yield rose to 5.11 percent from 5.09 percent late Wednesday. Prices and yields move in opposite directions.

The 30-year bonds were down 1/8 point and yielded 5.50 percent, up from 5.49 percent late Wednesday.

Yields on three-month Treasury bills fell to 5.25 percent as the discount fell 0.04 percentage point to 5.12 percent. Six-month yields fell to 5.13 percent as the discount fell 0.03 percentage point to 4.94 percent. One-year yields fell to 4.84 percent as the discount fell 0.03 point to 4.63 percent.

Yields are the interest bonds pay by maturity, while the discount is the interest at which they are sold.
