MIAMI (AP) _ Sedric Webber, Rodney Conner, Thaddeous Delaney and Anthony Johnson scored 14 points each as No. 25 College of Charleston rallied to beat Florida International 85-81 and extend the nation's longest unbeaten streak to 16 games.
With the victory, the Cougars (22-2, 13-0 TAAC) clinched their fourth consecutive Trans America Athletic Conference regular-season title.
Trailing 77-71, the Cougars used a pressure defense to force FIU into three consecutive turnovers. Two free throws by Webber gave Charleston a 79-77 lead with 2:18 to play.
FIU (11-12, 9-4 TAAC) led 62-52 with 14:00 to play on a 3-point shot by Joe Cross.
Charleston placed five players in double figures as Shane McCravy added a career-high 13. Johnson also had nine assists.
FIU led by as many as five points in the first half, relying on 3-point shooting.
The Golden Panthers, who lost to Charleston 78-75 a month ago when Stacy Harris hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer, shot 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from the field. Dedric Taylor, who leads the TAAC in 3-pointers, had three more and scored 22 points. Cross added 15 points and Anthony Harris had 13.
Charleston improved to 93-0 in 18 years under coach John Kresse in games the Cougars scored 84 or more points.
