Teacher in afterschool program faces child porn charges
Mar. 25, 2016
BOSTON (AP) — A teacher in a Boston-area afterschool program has been charged with possessing child pornography and obscene material.
The Suffolk County District Attorney says 20-year-old Ian Silver-Eck, also known as Ian Hennig, of Revere, was arraigned Friday. The judge allowed bail for Silver-Eck on the condition that he wear a GPS monitor and stay away from children.
A phone listing for Silver-Eck couldn't be found, and his attorney couldn't be reached for comment.
Prosecutors say police tracked child pornography shared online, which led to the teacher's house in Revere.
He was employed for a year by "Build-It-Yourself," which offers afterschool programs in the Boston area.
The company owner said Friday the teacher was always well-prepared, though he will be let go now.
