SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) — The approval rating of Chilean President Michelle Bachelet is at its lowest level since she returned to the office last year, a poll said Monday.

The monthly survey by pollster GfK Adimark said Bachelet's overall approval fell one percentage point in July, dropping to 26 percent.

Bachelet, who first served as president in 2006-10, took office for a second time in March 2014.

GfK Adimark said Bachelet's approval ratings have suffered as her government struggles to fulfill promises for ambitious reforms amid slowing economic growth. A seven-week strike by Chilean teachers and concerns about a spike in crime also affected her approval numbers.

The poll surveyed 1,015 people between July 8- 30. It has an error margin of three percentage points.
