ATLANTA (AP) _ Freshman Tasha Hamilton scored a career-high 19 points to go with 11 rebounds and four steals, sparking No. 21 Auburn to a 76-43 victory Monday night over Fordham in the opening round of the Georgia Tech Holiday Tournament.
Erin McGinnis added 15 points, and Tiffany Krantz 13 as Auburn (9-1) won its fourth in a row and advanced to the championship Tuesday night against Georgia Tech, which beat St. Mary's 69-60.
Kim Cook and Beth Michuda added 11 points apiece for the Lady Rams (1-7). Auburn outrebounded the Rams 43-23, and outshot them 52 percent to 35 percent.
The Tigers, now 4-0 against Fordham, never trailed, racing to a 35-14 lead with 6:25 left in the first half. Krantz and Hamilton had 11 points apiece in the first 14 minutes.
Auburn, using only nine players because of injuries, held its fourth consecutive opponent under 55 points. Those last four opponents have shot only 29 percent against the Tigers.
Auburn will try to present Joe Ciampi his 32nd regular-season tournament title in 43 tourneys during his 19 years at Auburn.
