WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Police have arrested a man they say tried to shoot his ex-girlfriend at an apartment building in West Fargo.

Officers were called to the apartment building about 10:30 p.m. Monday. The woman ran from the apartment and told police shots were fired outside and inside the building.

KFGO reports one of the bullets struck a house east of the apartment building and shattered a photo on a dresser. No one was hurt.

Police set up a perimeter and attempted to make contact with the suspect inside the building. Officials say the suspect fought with police before he was taken into custody. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
