Truck Hits Police Headquarters
Apr. 04, 2000
LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) _ A tractor-trailer missed a corner at the bottom of a hill, sliced through four lanes of traffic and smashed into the front of Idaho State Police headquarters.
Nobody was seriously injured.
``Watching that truck driver climb down out of that truck was just unbelievable,'' said Carrlea Koorenny, a secretary in the building.
``He didn't say anything. He just got out, limped over to a pickup truck and sat down,'' Koorenny said.
The truck, driven by Patrick R. Brann of Alberta, Canada, left a trail of bumpers, crumbled concrete and spilled diesel fuel across a highway before smashing into the building Monday, breaking rafters and smashing cinderblocks.
The truck clipped a pickup and flipped it over, but the smaller vehicle's driver and passenger had only minor injuries.
The cause of the accident was under investigation.
