WASHINGTON (AP) — The Boston Celtics can reach the Eastern Conference finals by beating the Wizards in Game 6 tonight in Washington. No road team has won in this series. If the Wizards win, the series returns to Boston for Game 7 on Monday.
HOUSTON (AP) — The San Antonio Spurs are in the Western Conference finals for the first time since winning the title in 2014. ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — The NHL's Western Conference finals start tonight in Anaheim as the Ducks take on the Nashville Predators. The Ducks will be back on ice two days after finishing off Edmonton in Game 7, while the Predators have been resting since their clincher over St. Louis last Sunday.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Matt Harvey is scheduled to make his first start for the New York Mets since serving a three-day suspension for skipping a game last weekend following a late night on the town. The right-hander will face Matt Garza and the Brewers tonight in Milwaukee.
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — William McGirt and Canadian rookie Mackenzie Hughes share the lead after one round of the PGA's Players Championship in Florida. J.B. Holmes, Jon Rahm, Alex Noren and Chez Reavie share second. Phil Mickelson is three shots back and one ahead of Dustin Johnson, who hasn't finished lower than second in his last four starts.
