Boy Killed In Dispute Over Trousers
Aug. 10, 1986
NEW YORK (AP) _ A 14-year-old boy was stabbed to death in a fight over a pair of trousers and a 12-year-old youth has been charged with murder, police said.
Harvey Brown and the 12-year-old were arguing when the younger boy pulled a knife and stabbed the older boy in the chest, said police Sgt. John Venetucci.
''Brown was made fun of because he was wearing the same pair of pants two days in a row,'' Venetucci said.
The 12-year-old boy was arrested at his home late Friday, about two hours after the stabbing, and was charged with second-degree murder and possession of a weapon, he said. The boy, whose name was not released, was being held in a juvenile center in the Bronx.
