WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A Sutton woman has pleaded guilty to embezzling $75,000 from her former employer just as her trial was about to start.

Prosecutors say 42-year-old Kathleen Coles pleaded guilty Monday in Worcester Superior Court to larceny over $250, forgery and uttering. Jury selection was scheduled to start Monday.

Coles, who once worked as a bookkeeper for Albright Technologies of Leominster, received a two-year suspended sentence and five years of probation. She was also ordered to pay restitution of $30,000, $10,000 of which she paid Monday.

The Sentinel & Enterprise (http://bit.ly/1Ed4aKZ ) reports that Coles was arrested in March 2013, and some of the embezzlement was via unauthorized use of a company credit card.
