Man gets lengthy sentence for distributing child pornography

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — A man who shared sexually explicit photos and videos of children online has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison.
Thomas Leonard received a 97-month sentence Tuesday. He also will have to serve five years of supervised release once he's freed from prison.
The 36-year-old Elizabeth man had pleaded guilty last September to distributing child pornography.
Federal prosecutors say Leonard used a peer-to-peer file sharing program to obtain and distribute the images and videos of children engaged in sexual acts.
