APOPKA, Fla. (AP) — Crews are removing a large oak tree branch that fell in a Florida shopping center's parking lot, narrowly missing a woman who was putting her 4-year-old child in his car seat.
The branch fell across three parked cars on Sunday afternoon at the Wekiva Riverwalk in Apopka, which is near Orlando.
Leina Justiniano tells WFTV she heard a cracking sound, looked up and saw the tree limb falling. She says she pulled her son away from the car and crouched down.
Justiniano says she scraped her arm and head. Both she and her son were treated at a hospital for minor injuries.
