Police: 5th suspect in northern NY slaying now in custody
Jul. 25, 2017
PAMELIA, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say they've now arrested a fifth person in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at a northern New York home last spring.
State police say a 26-year-old former Watertown man was taken into custody Monday in Orange County, Florida, with the help of the local sheriff's office and the U.S. Marshals Service. Troopers say he's being held as a fugitive from justice pending extradition proceedings.
Police say the man is one of five people who have been charged or will be charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Tyler Johnson. Troopers say Johnson was killed in a home in the town of Pamelia (puh-MEEL'-yuh) on May 18.
Two suspects were captured in Virginia last week; the other two are in the Jefferson County Jail.
