Woman sentenced to jail for striking, biting elderly mother

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire woman who pleaded guilty to striking and biting her elderly mother multiple times has been sentenced to a year in jail.
Fifty-five-year-old Stephanie Ntallas, of Pelham, was caring for her mother last year. Police investigated her. She was arrested on two misdemeanor counts of simple assault.
In addition to serving a year at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections, Ntallas also was sentenced Wednesday to two years of probation with a recommendation that she participate in a substance abuse treatment program.
