NEW YORK (AP) _ Stocks that were moving substantially or trading heavily Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market.


Halliburton Co., down $5.13 at $37.06.

The oil services firm announced a restructuring of its engineering and construction units. Halliburton also acknowledged it is under criminal investigation over a California military contract.

Viacom Inc., down $2.25 at $54.25.

The media company said third-quarter profits fell sharply on higher expenses and taxes, but cash flow rose 22 percent as advertising sales at CBS, MTV and radio stations increased. Viacom met Wall Street's expectations.

Sara Lee Corp., up 50 cents to $20.31.

The food and consumer products maker's profit fell 2 percent in its first quarter under new leadership, hurt by weak international bakery sales, higher hog costs and the shaky euro, the European currency.

NASDAQ Inc., up $2.31 to $31.88.

The Internet retailer traded up the day after it released earnings showing it lost less money than Wall Street thought it would. Investors have been impatient over online merchants' failure to produce profits.

Scient Corp., down 88 cents to $17.13.

The technology services firm was due to release earnings later in the day. Investors have been selling off shares of firms that service the cooling dot-com industry.

Microsoft Corp., down 25 cents to $61.25.

The software maker formally launched a new Internet service, MSN Explorer, to compete against America Online. MSN Explorer combines Microsoft's Web services into its Internet Explorer browser.
