OIL AND GAS-COLORADO
DENVER — An oil and gas advocacy group says Colorado has billions of dollars worth of petroleum in the ground and warns that taxpayers could face huge compensation claims if voters ban drilling. The Colorado Alliance of Mineral and Royalty Owners said Tuesday its members could file claims under the "takings" clause in the U.S. Constitution if new rules keep them from collecting the value of their rights. OCEAN RESORT CASINO
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — For months, there was little, if any, sign that Atlantic City's former Revel casino, a $2 billion bust, was getting ready to reopen. Colorado developer Bruce Deifik bought it in January and made plans for its reincarnation as the Ocean Resort Casino. But there was scant activity visible on the site. By Wayne Parry. NEW YORK — To get ready to play legendary songwriter Carole King on Broadway, Melissa Benoist had to learn her lines and complicated stage directions. Lyrics, not so much. Benoist was fed a steady diet by her parents of classics such as "So Far Away" and "It's Too Late" from the landmark album "Tapestry." Benoist grew up doing musical theater in Denver.
