Dec. 19, 2017
BENTON, La. (AP) — A former substitute teacher got the maximum sentences after pleading guilty to three sex acts with teenage girls, but the sentences are to run at the same time.
The Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office says 29-year-old Reid Christopher Kerr of Bossier City was sentenced Monday to 10 years on one count of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and to seven each on two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
News outlets reported after Kerr's arrest in 2015 that detectives believed he contacted teenage girls through social media.
He pleaded guilty in October to incidents which occurred between January 2013 and December 2014.
District attorney's spokesman John Andrew Prime says in a news release that Judge John Mosely also ordered the sentences to run concurrently with sentences in Bossier Parish.
