WASHINGTON (AP) _ Chariot Victor Publishing is recalling about 44,000 of its figurine playsets, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Monday. The VeggieTales' Dave and the Giant Pickle playsets have figure parts that can come loose, posing a choking hazard for children.

The government and the Colorado Springs, Colo.-based company are aware of one report of a 2-year-old child found with a plastic plug from the playset in his mouth. According to the CPSC, six of the character figurines have plastic plugs in their base that can come out. The French Peas figurine also poses a choking hazard because of its size and shape.

No injuries have been reported.

The playsets contain 10 figurines based on the ``Dave and the Giant Pickle!'' video. The sets include figurines depicting asparagus, peas, a grape, gourds and a pickle. They were sold in a mostly blue box showing scenes from the video. The product number is SPCN 9834501358 and is on the back of the box under the UPC code.

Major Christian bookstores and catalog companies sold these playsets nationwide from September 1998 through February 1999 for about $20.

Consumers should immediately take the figurines and return them to Chariot Victor Publishing for free replacements. The company will reimburse consumers' postage charges.
