TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Todd Redd scored nine points during a 15-0 run midway through the second half as Montana State-Northern continued its surprising run in the NAIA tournament with a 92-78 victory over Lipscomb on Thursday.

The Lights (17-18), which upset No. 2 Life College in the first round on a desperation shot at the buzzer, outscored Lipscomb 20-4 to overcome a seven-point deficit and take control of the game.

Redd, who finished with 17 points, hit a backdoor layup, a 3-pointer and four free throws during the 15-0 run that put the Lights up 70-59.

The Bisons (30-7) failed to score over a period of 5:08, missing three layups, three jumpers and the front end of a 1-and-1. Rico Page ended the drought with two free throws, and Andy McQueen's 3-pointer drew the Bisons to within 72-64 with 4:54 remaining.

But Redd hit three more free throws, and the Lights scored the next 10 points for an 18-point lead with just under three minutes remaining.

Doug Smith, who hit the game-winner for Northern in the first round, scored 18 points to lead all five starters in double figures.

McQueen scored 24 points, all on 3-pointers, and Page finished with 17.

The Lights will play Arkansas Tech in the quarterfinals Friday afternoon.
