DURHAM, N.C. (AP) _ Elton Brand scored 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, leading No. 3 Duke to an easy 126-64 win over Mercer on Sunday.
Trajan Langdon had 19 points and Mike Chappell 18 for the Blue Devils (10-1), who had six players in double figures. Chris Carrawell scored 14 and Chris Burgess 10 for Duke.
Ricky Price scored 10 points in his first game since being declared academically ineligible last season.
Price, now a senior, became eligible Friday after the last day of fall classes at Duke. He averaged 14.2 points as a sophomore and started 11 games last year before being suspended.
The Blue Devils' point total was the third highest ever by a Duke team and their highest since a 130-54 win over Harvard on Nov. 25, 1989.
Evans Davis scored 21 points and Mark Adamson added 12 for Mercer (3-7).
The Bears trailed just 13-10 five minutes into the game, but Duke forced five turnovers during the next 5:28 and went on a 26-5 run that broke the game open. Brand scored six points during that span, including a thunderous dunk off a fast break that capped the run and gave Duke a 39-15 lead.
Brand hit seven of his first 13 shots and scored 14 first-half points to help Duke take a 63-29 halftime lead.
The Blue Devils scored on their first six second-half possessions and reached the 100-point plateau with more than six minutes left in the game.
