Parking Rate Up at College Series
Dec. 19, 2001
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ It will cost $10 to park at the College World Series next June.
Mayor Mike Fahey said Tuesday the fee at Rosenblatt Stadium should raise about $126,000 for the city. Previously, parking was free.
Other changes at the college national championship series will include 7,400 molded fiberglass grandstand seats replacing the wooden variety, longer home runs with the playing field extended about 10 feet and about 900 new outfield bleacher seats and 500 new grandstand seats.
Brighter lights are being installed for the field and tighter security will be put into play. Measures being considered include narrowing stadium entrances to single-file and conducting random pat-down searches of fans.
