Man pleads not guilty in fatal ATV crash case

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A Worcester man has pleaded not guilty to charges in connection with a fatal all-terrain vehicle crash.
Authorities have said Luis Pena's ATV was among a group of ATVs and dirt bikes doing wheelies and swerving on a road on the night of Aug. 19 when it went out of control and flipped over several times. His 23-year-old passenger Paola Alba suffered severe head injuries from the crash and died at a hospital on Aug. 30.
The Telegram & Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1ibGJbA ) Pena was arraigned Monday in Central District Court on charges of motor vehicle homicide by negligent driving and driving so as to endanger, among related charges.
The defense successfully requested that he be released on personal recognizance.
Pena's case was continued to Dec. 21.
