Three Theaters Get Landmark Designation

NEW YORK (AP) _ The Landmarks Preservation Commission has extended landmark status to three Broadway theaters, but the Board of Estimate has 90 days to overturn the designations - a move theater owners may request if guidelines they had sought are not outlined.
The commission had been considering landmark status for 45 theaters in the Times Square areaew productions.
The theaters which received landmark status Tuesday are the Neil Simon Theater at 254 W. 52nd St.; the Ambassador Theater at 215-223 W. 49th St., and the Virginia Theater at 243-259 W. 52nd St.
