OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) _ Compass Minerals International Inc. (CMP) on Monday reported a loss of $7.6 million in its second quarter.

The Overland Park, Kansas-based company said it had a loss of 23 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 14 cents per share.

The minerals producer posted revenue of $246.7 million in the period.

Compass expects full-year earnings to be $2.75 to $3.25 per share.

Compass shares have fallen nearly 6 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $68.20, rising slightly in the last 12 months.
