Jose Ramirez slammed a two-run homer before the Indians squandered a 3-1 lead in a 4-3 loss to the visiting Royals. Lorenzo Cain singled home the tiebreaking run in the sixth, allowing Kansas City to become the first team to beat the Indians since Aug. 23.

UNDATED (AP) — Boston scored seven times in the 15th inning to earn a 13-6 win over Tampa Bay and keep its three-game lead over the New York Yankees in the AL East. Run-scoring errors by infielders Brad Miller and Logan Morrison prolonged the big rally before Deven Marrero produced a two-run double. Didi Gregorius (DEE'-dee greh-GOHR'-ee-uhs) belted a tiebreaking, two-run homer and had a pair of sacrifice flies as the Yankees whipped the Orioles, 8-2.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers earned a 7-0 shutout of the Nationals as Alex Wood struck out eight while allowing three hits over six innings. Corey Seager slammed a three-run homer off Edwin Jackson after Justin Turner and Yasiel Puig (YAH'-see-ul pweeg) hit solo shots against the Washington starter. Los Angeles has won three straight to cut its magic number for winning the NL West to six.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — No. 22 South Florida is 3-0 after Quinton Flowers threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns in a 47-23 thrashing of Illinois. Flowers also ran for a TD as the Bulls beat a Big Ten opponent for the first time. Illini freshman Mike Epstein scored on a 46-yard run and a 21-yard pass from Jeff George Jr., who replaced starter Chayce Crouch in the second half.
