JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Two North Carolina teenagers have been arrested for the shooting death of a former sheriff's deputy.

Local media outlets report 18-year-old Caitlin Emily Ridgeway was arrested on Tuesday and charged with murder in the death of 48-year-old Will Clifton, who was found in a Jacksonville park on July 7.

WITN-TV reports court documents showed Ridgeway obtained a domestic violence protection order against Clifton in February 2016. At the time, Clifton was an Onslow County sheriff's deputy.

According to the order, Ridgeway said Clifton came to her job and texted her. She also said the deputy sent her pictures of pills and a gun.

Last Friday, police arrested 18-year-old Will James Welch Jr. and charged him with murder. He's jailed without bond and it's not known if he has an attorney.
