GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) _ Bowater Inc. said its president and chief operating officer, David G. McMaster, plans to retire at year's end.The Greenville, S.C.-based paper manufacturer said it has no immediate plans to fill the position.

David E. McIntyre, the vice president for pulp and paper manufacturing, and John C. Davis, vice president for pulp and paper sales, both of whom had reported to McMaster, will report to Anthony P. Gammie, chairman and chief executive.

Aubrey Rogers, Bowater's vice president for information services who had reported to McMaster, will report to Robert C. Lancaster, senior vice president and chief financial officer.
