HONOLULU (AP) _ Hawaii playmaker Anthony Carter returned to action Saturday night, scoring 20 points to lead the Rainbows over Long Island 102-83 in the opening round of the Zippy's Tournament.

Hawaii (5-0) will face Arkansas St., a 62-58 victor over Centenary, for the championship on Sunday.

Carter, playing for the first time since suffering a shoulder injury a week ago, also grabbed five rebounds and had seven assists.

Hawaii opened the second half with an 11-4 run to take a 60-46 lead, while Long Island (4-4) missed 12 of its first 14 shots.

The Blackbirds cut the deficit to four with just under nine minutes left, but Hawaii went on a 21-7 run to seal the game.

Micah Kroeger added 18 points for Hawaii, while Casey Cartwright scored 15 off the bench.

Charles Jones scored 27 for Long Island. Mike Campbell scored 20 points, while Richie Parker added 17 points and 13 rebounds.
