ST. LOUIS (AP) — Two St. Louis police officers are injured after a fleeing car crashed into their police car.
Both officers were hospitalized following the crash on Friday. One had a cut on the head and the other complained of neck and back pain. Both are in stable condition.
The suspect is in custody and also hospitalized in stable condition for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
Police were conducting an undercover investigation when they tried to arrest the suspect. Spokeswoman Leah Freeman says the man fled in a car but a police helicopter tracked him down. Officers used devices to flatten the suspect's tires.
The car continued to flee and struck a police car. Freeman says the police car was unmarked but had activated lights and sirens.
