PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (AP) _ Kevin Sutherland won the Pebble Beach Invitational on Sunday, closing with a 3-under-par 69 for a one-stroke victory over Don Pooley.

Sutherland, winless in five years on the PGA Tour, eagled the par-5 sixth hole and capped his comeback victory with a 5-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole at Pebble Beach. He had a 13-under 275 total.

``It's been a long time since I've won a tournament. It's nice to win something,'' said Sutherland, who earned $60,000 in the tournament that features both male and female players.

Pooley closed with a 70. Tour regular Todd Fischer, the third-round leader, shot a 73 to finish third at 205.

Sweden's Helen Alfreddson was the top female finisher, closing with a 71 to tie for sixth at 281.
