CHICAGO (AP) _ Jack Sandner has been re-elected to another two-year term as director of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Sandner, whose re-election means he will remain chairman for a final year, said Thursday he will stay his course at the exchange and will seek to inaugurate Internet trading at the exchange sometime this year.

But Sandner could face dissent from several new board members. Of the 12 seats at stake, three were won by candidates backed by independent traders who have chafed at the growing influence of large broker associations at the exchange.

In addition to Sandner, also elected were: Robert Haworth; Irwin Rosen; Yra Harris; Terrence Dufy; William Salatich Jr.; James Oliff; David Silverman; Michael Dowd; Gary Katler; William Shepard and Joel Stender.
