TOKYO (AP) _ Kimiyasu Kudoh pitched a three-hitter and and Kazuhiro Kiyohara hit a three-run home run, leading the Pacific League champion Seibu Lions to a 6-0 victory over the Yomiuri Giants Monday in the second game of the best-of-seven Japan Series.
The Central League champion Giants had won the series opener 7-3 Sunday.
Playing before 32,000 spectators at Seibu Stadium in Tokyo's outskirts, the Giants managed only two infield hits and one other hit, and no Giants batters reached second base against Kudoh, a left-hander who had the Pacific League's best earned run average, 2.41, and posted a 14-4 record in the regular season.
The Lions took a 1-0 lead on a solo homer by Hiromichi Ishige in the third inning against loser Takashi Nishimoto.
In the sixth inning, the Lions widened the lead to 3-0 on a solo home run by Koji Akiyama, who led the leaggue with 43 during the regular season, and an RBI double by Tsutomu Itoh.
In the seventh inning, Kiyohara, who hit 29 home runs during the regular season, hit his three-run homer against Hiroaki Hirota, who relieved Nishimoto in the seventh inning.
The third game is to be played Wednesday at Tokyo's Korakuen Stadium.
