Undated (AP) _ Air Force got past Notre Dame when linebacker Terry Make stormed in to block a fourth-quarter field goal attempt and A.J. Scott raced 77 yards with the loose ball for a touchdown. It was the Falcons' eighth consecutive victory as Air Force increased its record this season to 5-0. Notre Dame is 1-3.

The Auburn defense held the Rebels to eight yards rushing, one yard passing and two first downs.
Tennessee, behind quarterback Tony Robinson and freshman tailback Keith Davis, increased its record to 2-0-1 with a narrow victory over Wake Forest. The Vols had a 21-7 lead early in the second half before Wake Forest began its comeback.
Ralph Stockemer scored twice from the 1 and Tom Muecke threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to Jackie Ball as Baylor scored 24 straight points to beat Houston. The Bears, 4-1, fell behind 7-0, then pulled ahead 24-7 before Houston quarterback Gerald Landry came back from a first-half injury to rally the Cougars to a three-point deficit with two touchdown passes.
Texas' Todd Dodge passed for a school-record 359 yards and three touchdowns as the Longhorns downed Rice. Two of the TD passes went to freshman Eric Metcalf, for 40 and 80 yards, and Dodge also set a school record with a 96- yard scoring play to Donovan Pitts.
