John McGlynn leaves job as Hearts manager
Feb. 28, 2013
EDINBURGH, Scotland (AP) — John McGlynn has left his job as Hearts manager by mutual consent, a day after a humbling 2-0 loss to St. Mirren dropped the team to next-to-last place in the Scottish Premier League.
McGlynn was hired by Hearts last June but the club has struggled under the weight of financial problems this season.
McGlynn says "it is unfortunate that things didn't turn out the way I wanted them to and I am gutted about that."
Hearts say first-team coach Gary Locke and player development manager Darren Murray will take interim charge of the team, beginning with Saturday's league match against Motherwell.
