Teen Killed in N.Y. Mall Shooting

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) _ Shots erupted inside a suburban mall, killing a teen-ager and wounding an 8-year-old bystander who was shopping with his family.
The 17-year-old, whose identity was not released, died hours after the shooting Monday evening at the Galleria mall in this New York suburb. Police Capt. Peter Viviano say today if the teen also had a gun but said investigators have ``a good idea'' of what happened and it wasn't gang-related.
No arrests had been made as of this morning but three people were being questioned and mall security videotape was being reviewed, he said.
The shooting happened in a vestibule between the parking area and the main selling floor of the mall, Viviano said.
``We were going to Macy's with my mom and sister to pay bills,'' said the wounded boy, Bryan Galeano of White Plains. ``I heard an explosion. ... I felt scared. I said, `Something hit me. Something hit me.'''
``I just held my son and started screaming,'' said his mother, Mirian Cespedes.
Bryan was treated at a hospital and released.
