SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Jackie Stiles, who averaged 30.3 points a game and set an NCAA season scoring record, was named the top woman in her sport Tuesday and will vie for the overall Honda Award in June.

The 5-foot-8 guard from Southwest Missouri State was cited in a vote by NCAA schools.

Stiles led the Lady Bears to a spot in the Final Four and became the leading scorer in NCAA women's basketball history with 3,393 points.

She will be joined by other female college athletes voted the outstanding performer in their sports.

The college woman athlete of the year for 2000-01 will be announced June 11 in Salt Lake City.
