ATLANTA (AP) — A horse farm that belonged to an Atlanta lawyer convicted of murder in the fatal shooting of his wife is being auctioned off.

The Putnam County farm that belonged to Claud "Tex" McIver and his wife, Diane, is to be auctioned off this weekend. Their personal belongings will also be available, according to estatesales.net.

A judge in May sentenced McIver to life in prison with the possibility of parole after a jury found him guilty of murder. He shot her in September 2016 while the couple was in an SUV on their way home from their vacation home.

Tex McIver was a partner at a prominent labor and employment law firm. Diane McIver was president of U.S. Enterprises Inc., the parent company of Corey Airport Services.
