U.S. Loses in Junior Field Hockey

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) _ The United States lost to New Zealand 3-1 on Monday in an opening field hockey game at the Women's Junior World Cup.
Jessica Coleman had the only goal for the United States, scoring in the 19th minute of the Pool A game. Lizzy Igasan, Anita Wawatai and Stacey Carr scored for New Zealand.
Also, the Netherlands beat India 1-0, South Africa downed Wales 2-0, and Argentina defeated Spain 6-0.
The 12-day tournament features under-20 players from 15 teams. The tournament was to have had 16 teams but Ukraine withdrew.
