LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) _ Kelvin Price had 12 points, Conley Virdon added 11 and Southwestern Louisiana remained unbeaten Saturday night with a 67-51 victory over North Carolina-Wilmington.
The six other Southwestern players who got into the game also had at least seven points for the Ragin' Cajuns (3-0), who avenged a 20-point loss dealt them last season by North Carolina-Wilmington (0-3).
USL held a 35-28 lead at halftime and never trailed in the second half, although UNCW cut the margin to two points in the first three minutes on a pair of baskets by Stan Simmons, his only points of the game.
The Cajuns responded with an 11-0 run, getting 3-pointers from Reginald Poole, Price and Chris Manuel before a steal and dunk by Price built a 48-35 margin with 13:13 showing. The visiting Seahawks never got closer than eight points the rest of the way.
Preston McGriff led the way for UNCW with 15 points and a game-high nine rebounds, while Darren Moore added 12.
