Feb. 18, 2000
NEW YORK (AP) _ Brad Pitt is making a date with Oscar after all.
Earlier in the week, Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio turned down invitations to be presenters at the Academy Awards, saying they were too busy.
But Pitt's publicist told the New York Daily News for Friday's editions he changed his mind after learning that some of his friends, including Tom Cruise and Catherine Keener, were nominated. Cruise is in the running for best supporting actor in ``Magnolia,'' and Keener was nominated for best supporting actress in ``Being John Malkovich.''
DiCaprio isn't changing his mind, though. His representative, Ken Sunshine, says DiCaprio ``had a long-standing prior commitment. He's not dissing the Oscars.''
