PASADENA, Calif. (AP) _ The former housekeeper for Delta Burke of ''Designing Women'' and ''Major Dad'' star Gerald McRaney has been charged with stealing more than $10,000 from the couple.

Paulette Broughton, 44, was charged Wednesday with embezzlement.

CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (AP) - When this small town's civic leaders decided to honor the Everly Brothers three years ago they had no idea they were laying the groundwork for an annual music festival.

All they wanted to do back in 1988, Mayor Hugh Sweatt Jr. said, was thank native sons Don and Phil Everly for helping the Police Department buy new radios.

''We were just hoping they'd be kind enough to bring their guitars,'' Sweatt said. ''We were going to see if we could clear Lester's used car lot, tell people to bring their lawn chairs and put Don and Phil up on the roof of the old city fire building as their stage.''

But the brothers responded with a full-scale concert at which they and folksinger John Prine performed for 6,000 people.

The show has since mushroomed into the annual Everly Brothers Homecoming Festival. This year's event, which opens Saturday and runs five days, is expected to draw 18,000 people.

Proceeds will go to several scholarship funds and the possible creation of a museum and theme park honoring the brothers, whose hits include ''Bye, Bye Love'' and ''Wake Up, Little Susie.''

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Former middleweight champion Michael Nunn was arrested after being accused of slapping his girlfriend around, authorities said.

The 28-year-old boxer was arrested Wednesday at his Agoura Hills home after his girlfriend, Loretha Boyce, 28, called for help, said Deputy Rafael Estrada.

He was booked for investigation of felony infliction of bodily injury and freed on $15,000 bail.

''Deputies saw visible bruises on Ms. Boyce's right arm,'' Estrada said. ''Ms. Boyce said he slapped her several times during an argument over problems with their relationship.''

Nunn has not fought since May 10, when he lost the International Boxing Federation middleweight title to James Toney in an 11th-round knockout.

A call made after business hours to Nunn's representatives at Ten Goose Promotions went unanswered.

CHICAGO (AP) - A judge has tentatively agreed to let Arista Records settle a lawsuit over the lip-syncing Milli Vanilli by offering millions in partial refunds to people who bought the duo's records.

Under the agreement, reached Wednesday, the record company would refund $3 to people who bought a Milli Vanilli video or compact disc, $2 to those who bought a tape and $1 to those who bought an album or single.

The settlement also calls for Arista to donate $250,000 to leukemia research, AIDS research and rain forest conservation.

Milli Vanilli was stripped of a best new artist Grammy last year after Rob Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan admitted they did no singing on their album ''Girl You Know It's True,'' which sold more than 10 million copies.

Arista has been hit with at least 26 lawsuits accusing it of fraud.

Tom Tyrrell, a lawyer for one of the plaintiffs, said Circuit Judge Thomas O'Brien will hold hearings before giving final approval to the deal.
