FRESNO, Calif. (AP) _ Misdemeanor battery charges have been filed against a Fresno State football player and another athlete.

There was, however, some confusion Friday on one of the athlete's identities.

Reserve linebacker Edwin Guadamuz and another student athlete are accused of being involved in a fight at a fraternity house on Oct. 9.

Court records show the charges are against Guadamuz and quarterback hopeful Drew Johns. But Fresno State football coach Pat Hill said the second athlete was reserve quarterback Andrew Hixson.

Hill suspended Guadamuz and Hixson from the football team last week.

Hill and other university officials did not immediately return phone calls Saturday from The Associated Press.
