NEWARK, Del. (AP) — A 17-year-old high school freshman is accused of making an online threat about a shooting at a Delaware school.

News outlets report the unnamed girl was arrested Tuesday on a charge of misdemeanor terroristic threatening, a day after Newark police say Newark High School officials shared the threat.

A police release says the threat was posted on social media, but didn't include further details regarding its nature.

The Christina School District says the girl will be suspended. Newark police spokesman Lt. Andrew Rubin says the girl was released on $500 bond.

The threat led to an increased presence at the high school.
