Mar. 13, 1985
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (AP) _ Northbound lanes of Interstate 75 near the Kentucky-Tennessee line were closed for nearly six hours today after a tractor-trailer carrying a flammable material overturned, officials said.
Traffic began moving freely again on Interstate 75 at about 7:30 a.m., a dispatcher for the Tennessee Highway Patrol said.
No one was injured when the truck overturned, but one police officer from Jellico, Tenn., was hurt while rerouting traffic, Jellico police said.
The truck carrying an unidentified material wrecked about 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, one mile north of the Tennessee line, Kentucky police said.
Shortly afterward, a truck hit two Jellico police cars that had been blocking an interstate exit ramp. Officer Ronnie Lewis was treated at Jellico Community Hospital and released, Chief Lon Ramsey said.
