HAMPTON, Va. (AP) — Authorities say one teen is dead and another is hospitalized following their moped's involvement in a four-vehicle crash in Virginia.

News outlets cite a Hampton police release that says two 16-year-old boys traveling on a moped were struck by a pickup truck driven by a 60-year-old man on Monday night. The pickup truck and moped continued into the intersection, where the vehicles struck a turning Nissan Maxima and a Hertz rental box truck that was stopped at a light.

The teens were taken to the hospital, where one was pronounced dead. The other is in critical condition. The 60-year-old pickup truck driver and someone in the rental box truck were hospitalized with what police say were non-life-threatening injuries.

No identities have been released. It's unclear if charges will be filed.
